Carbon monoxide in smoker’s body.

Carbon monoxide is poisonous, colorless and odorless gas that is produced by carbon containing fuel burn incompletely. When carbon monoxide enters lungs through breathing it enters the bloodstream and gets converted into Carboxyhemoglobin which is transported to the bloodstream. Once this happens the oxygen cannot bind with the same receptor.

Carbon monoxide quickly connects with the blood receptor and is slow to be eliminated from the body. It takes a day to breathe out all the carbon monoxide inhaled. Abundant carbon monoxide in the body can starve us of oxygen making it difficult to breathe and this can be fatal in the long run.
